Wellness of Wildlife

Why Waggin Rears exists and the environment that inspired it.

A quiet room inside Thee Quad

Waggin Rears did not begin as a boarding business.

It began with a question:

What happens when an environment is designed around wellness instead of revenue generation?

Over time, Thee Quad evolved into something unusual. What started as just a small local business, became a place where hospitality, wildlife, sustainability, and everyday living all existed together.

As the property evolved, the animals instinctively noticed first.

Returning pets became familiar with the routines. Wildlife began reappearing throughout the habitat. The environment started to sustain itself with plants and animals working in harmony.

Waggin Rears grew naturally from that observation.

Instead of building a boarding facility and trying to make it feel like home, we started with a real habitat and built a boarding experience within it.

Today, pets relax in a calm resort setting purposely designed for wildlife, thoughtful hospitality, and the belief that intentional environments create better life experiences.

The founder

Why I built Waggin Rears

I've always been fascinated by the relationship between environments and behavior.

At an early age, I started noticing the same pattern everywhere: when a space feels calm, intentional, and welcoming, everything changes. People relax. Animals settle. Stress decreases. Good experiences happen more naturally.

That observation eventually shaped everything I built.

As Thee Quad evolved, so did my understanding of how strongly animals respond to their surroundings. The disciplined routines, the creative open spaces, the diverse wildlife, and the simple feeling of being somewhere safe all seemed to matter more than most people realized.

One lesson kept repeating itself.

Animals rarely care about the things people spend the most time worrying about.

They don't care whether something is trendy. They don't care whether something is brand new. They don't care about appearances, status, or perfection.

What they respond to is safety, consistency, familiarity, and the feeling of being somewhere they can actually trust.

Over time, that perspective changed the way I thought about hospitality.

I became less interested in creating impressive spaces and more interested in creating meaningful ones.

Waggin Rears grew from that collection of data.

Not from a desire to create another pet boarding business, but from a belief that animals deserve environments designed with the same level of thoughtfulness that people tend to appreciate.

Today, every stay is guided by the same philosophy:

Create a better environment, and better experiences tend to follow.

LIVING PROOF

Waggin Rears operates in partnership with Thee Quad, a Certified Wildlife Habitat and hospitality destination built around the wellness of wildlife.

More than a location, TQR represents a philosophy: that thoughtful environments create better experiences for the living things that occupy them.

That belief influences everything here.

The property was intentionally shaped to support biodiversity, encourage curiosity, and create spaces where animals, plants, people, and nature can coexist. What began as a simple idea evolved into a living ecosystem where wellness, stewardship, hospitality, and sustainability intersect every day.

That philosophy extends directly into Waggin Rears.

Every boarding stay takes place within the same environment that attracts birds, butterflies, pollinators, lizards, and other forms of wildlife throughout the year. The result is an boarding experience that feels different because it was designed differently.

For pets, that means new sights, smells, routines, and opportunities for enrichment.

For owners, it means knowing their animal is staying somewhere intentionally built around wellness, care, and respect for the living world.
