Why Waggin Rears exists and the environment that inspired it.
Waggin Rears didn't begin as a boarding business. It began with a question: what happens when a pet's experience is designed around wellness instead of revenue generation?
Over time, Thee Quad Resorts evolved into something unusual — a place where hospitality, wellness, sustainability and everyday living coexist. As the property changed, the animals seemed to notice first. Returning pets learned the routines. Wildlife reappeared throughout the habitat. Plants and animals worked their way back into the environment.
Waggin Rears grew naturally from that observation. Instead of building a boarding facility and trying to make it feel like a home, we started with a real habitat and built a boarding experience within it.
Room to be an animal
As cities grow upward and everyday living becomes more compressed, animals are often asked to adapt to smaller worlds — less room to move, less time outside and fewer chances to explore, work, play and simply be animals. That stayed with me while I was building Waggin Rears.
I became less interested in creating impressive spaces and more interested in creating meaningful ones. Animals don't care whether something is trendy, brand new or perfect. They respond to safety, consistency, familiarity, movement, routine and the feeling that they can trust where they are.
I never set out to build another pet boarding business. I wanted somewhere animals could actually get away — a second home with room to move, things to do and an environment designed around the way they experience the world.
Today, Waggin Rears operates from Thee Quad, a Certified Wildlife Habitat where domestic animals and wildlife share the same broader environment. Stays are intentionally small, routines are purposeful, and wellness is built into the experience rather than added as an amenity.

The Quad was never designed as a backdrop for animals. Wildlife, plants and domestic pets are part of the environment itself — moving through the property, responding to its rhythms and shaping the experience every day. What began as a simple idea has grown into a living ecosystem where wellness, stewardship, hospitality and sustainability intersect naturally.
For the animals staying here, that means more than a room. It means new sights and smells, outdoor movement, changing environments, familiar routines and the freedom to experience a place that was designed with wildlife already in mind.
